Not only does the 585-acre Prospect Park make up the largest green space in Brooklyn, but it also offers a multitude of cultural and recreational activities for visitors of all ages. Designed by Frederick Law Olmstead and Calvert Vaux, the same architects that planned Manhattan's Central Park, Prospect Park is home to the Celebrate Brooklyn! Performing Arts Festival, the borough's only zoo, a 60-acre lake, and even a forest.

The dramatic Grand Army Plaza, the oldest section of Prospect Park, serves as the park's main entrance. The plaza was completed in 1867, and its memorial arch was unveiled in 1892.

On Saturdays, Grand Army Plaza houses New York City's second largest greenmarket.
